Friends

Finally I had gotten friends. Finally I was not bored. Graduation, however, is going to ruin that. Many of my friends are seniors and once next week is over, I will never see them again. That means the people I hangout with before school, during school, at lunch, and on the weekends will no longer be there. Yes, I have friends who are not seniors, however, it is still difficult.
To stop myself from being lonely, I am now walking around school during lunch and talking with my younger friends. Those friends, however, have their own friend groups. I know they do not mind me joining them but I still do not want to intrude on them. Many of them have told me not to worry and stop being awkward. I try but I honestly am struggling with not being awkward in front of them.   They tell me to just join in on the conversation, but half the time I do not even know what they are talking about! Thankfully we only have two more weeks of school. I will try to fit in with this first group by the end of this week. If not, I will go with another friend to his friend group the next week.
I am lucky, however, that all my friends are understanding and are helping me with my social problems. So if any of you are reading this, THANK YOU!
Now, my word of advice for today is to make friends in every grade. Do not just make friends with seniors, because once they graduate you will be lonely. Also, during the year make multiple friends and hangout with multiple friend groups. Having multiple friend groups may be an advantage later on in the year.

Orchestra Show

So tonight I went to an orchestra show at my school with my boyfriend. Many of my friends were playing and I was extremely proud to say that I know them. These talented players are hardworking and they deserve the applauds they got tonight.
The music was beautiful, fast-paced, and dramatic in many areas. This definitely made my night. You see when my boyfriend asked me to go with him, I was little reluctant. I thought it would be boring, no offense to musicians, but in reality it was very captivating. The conductors used swift strokes and strong emotion while conducting the orchestra; the musicians poured their hearts and souls into the pieces they were playing; and not even a young toddler in the audience uttered a sound in fear of breaking the beauty of the moment.
I do have to admit, however, that I did get restless because I can not sit in one area for too long. So, to entertain myself I built paper airplanes out of the play book, drummed to the beat of the music, and braided my boyfriend's hair (much to his dismay). This, does not mean that I did not enjoy myself. I was greatly entertained by the skillful pieces being played by the young musical geniuses.
Halfway through the show, my boyfriend and I got hungry. We decided to leave to grab some snacks from the confession stand. There I found the most delicious cookie ever! It was soft, warm, gooey, and had giant chocolate chips in it. I was literally standing at the standing complimenting the cookie. The ladies there thought I was crazy, but they did not care as long as they got money. (I am joking here.) I have to say though, I am impressed with the confession stand here. My old school had a wide variety of food, yet it was extremely expensive (private school probs). My new school has a smaller selection, however, the food is yummy and cheap. I like cheap! Well that's all really. I just felt like writing about what I did tonight. The advice of today is to get out and go to school events! You may have fun! And hey, you may get extra credit. ;)

End of the Year Testing

The school year is coming to a close, which is weird considering I just started my new school. Along with the ending of the year, comes the testing. Teachers are now rushing to teach the information that their students need in order to pass their final tests.
My school, for example, has something called the EOC. EOCs are test that students must pass in order to pass the class, or at least that is what other students are telling me. I, however, am still a little uncertain what an EOC effects.
Last month, my first test began. Each test for each subject is split into two parts. I had already taken the first part, when the servers had a malfunction and I was unable to take the second part. I was told the second part would be rescheduled. It was definitely reschedule, on a day that I was not at school. Once I found out about the rescheduled test, I was full of panic. I did not know what would happen considering I missed my second test. I told my friend about the incident and he did not help at all, by telling me that I would be screwed over by the testing system. I became terrified and went to my teacher who was in charge of the subject that I missed. She told me not to worry and handed me a certificate which told me another date to take part two. I was relived, until my geometry EOC started.
Somehow, my second part for the geometry EOC was scheduled for the exact date and time as my make up for the other EOC which I missed. I went to the lady in charge of the testing system and asked her what to do. She told me to go to my makeup ECO instead of my geometry part two. I was then informed that my geometry EOC part two would be rescheduled for another date.
This school seems to have an occurring theme here. I just hope that my geometry part two will not be rescheduled during the time that I take my last EOC. So my advice bloggers is to not miss days of school, especially during the end of the year when final tests begin.

New Car

Driving. It is something that every teenager cannot wait to do. Maybe I am not normal, but I am terrified of driving. See? It is bold because that is how serious I am about it. Despite my fear, however, my parents are relying on me to learn to drive and take myself places. It was not s big deal until this month.
This month I finally got my license and a car. I was extremely happy, until the relization sets in. My parents are going to expect me to drive everywhere and that is what exactly happened. Two days after getting my license,my dad forced me to get in the car and drive the route to my new school and back repeatedly until I had it etched into my brain. Then, he jumped out the car and told me to do the route on my own. Shaking, I turned on my indicator and drove myself down the same road that I had been going down for five months straight now. I have to admit, I did decent considering I had never been in the car on my own before. That was not all that happened though.
A day after that experience, my dad picked me up after school. He brought my car and climbed into the passenger seat. He then forced me to get in the driver's seat. It would have been okay except for the fact that is was raining. It had been raining all day and I had to figure out where my lights and windshield wipers were. That was a lovely experience. Yes, sarcasm is indeed needed here. Then I started driving. I was doing perfectly fine until a school bus passed me.
I was on the right side of the road and a school bus was on the left side. We were both going the speed limit and it eventually passed me. I moved my eyes over to the right side of the road to look at a sign when all of a sudden this small red car jerked into my lane. I slammed on my breaks and jerked my wheel to the right trying to avoid too much damage because I knew it was going to hit, however, the driver in the red car must have some mad driving in skills because they turned his or her wheel and went back to the left lane. I was sweating, my dad was cussing, and the rain was pounding my windshield. I eventually got home but I have to admit, I am terrified of driving still. My advice today, though, is to always look at your surroundings when driving. Some idiot may be out there who is not paying attention and you can get seriously  hurt.

First Fight

Many fights occur throughout the world. Fights also happen at school. At my old private school, however, fights never happened. Only once had I seen a fight before. It was during a football game and it ended right after it started. The guys punched each other once, fell down the bleachers, then some older students pulled them apart. That was the only fight I saw and I was completely unaccustomed to fighting.
That has now changed. At a public school, a fight occurs usually everyday. Most of them are about silly things, yet they happen. Even though they happen a lot at my new school, I had never seen one in person before. I only heard about the fights and then I shrugged it off. That has recently changed.
Not too long ago, I was sitting outside my school with some friends waiting to be picked up because I had missed the bus. Soon, one of my friends got into an argument with another guy and they started throwing punches at one another. I was sitting there the whole time frozen. All I could think was how terrified I was. I was worried that my friend who get hurt or that the fight would turn to me. I sat there starring and silently praying for someone to break them up. Suddenly, from around the corner of the school, another one of my guy friends came running out and jumped on my friend fighting. With his and a few other people's help, the fight was stopped and the two fighters went their separate ways fuming.
I continued sitting there anxious that something would happen again. My friend who came running, aka the hero, came over to me and gave me a hug. I am pretty sure he knew that I was terrified of what happen. He even stayed by my side for a while to make sure nothing happened. I was truly grateful for him. The only thing I am mad about is the fact I just sat there. So my advice today, be careful. You may believe you truly understand someone but you may never know. You may find out that they have anger issues when you thought they were completely normal before. Just be careful.

School Bus Troubles

Transferring from a private to a public school is extremely difficult. Many things are new and it feels like you have no time to learn them. One such thing for me was the bus system. Back at my old school, my parents took me to school and picked me up from school. We had no buses. If our parents could not pick us up, we could get a ride with someone else. At a public school, the system is different. Students take school busses. I soon became a student who takes the bus.
It was my second day of school when I tackled the bus. The task, however, turned out a little differently than I thought. First, I woke up at 5:00 AM shaking with fear and expectation. I quickly got ready and began my walk to my bus stop with my parents and dogs. Yes, I walked to the bus stop with my whole family. The walk was quiet, freezing, and very dark. I could barely see where I was going and felt like I was going to be mugged at anytime. Soon, I arrived to a road sign which I thought was the bus stop. I was wrong. Thankfully, I saw a guy walking in the same direction as me and I asked him where to go. To this day, that guy and I are close friends and we always ride the bus together.
I walked with my new friend to the right stop, bugging him the whole time with my elaborate stories and fears. Finally, we reached the stop and began to wait. Ten minutes passed without the bus. The bus was late. Thirty minutes passed and still no bus. We still waited. A whole hour passed with my friend and I waiting out in the freezing cold. Eventually, I grew tired of waiting and called my parents to pick my new friend and me up. My parents ended up taking me to school that day.
Despite the difficulties that I experienced that morning, I was able to overcome my fear of school busses after school. After six period, I met up with my new friend and we both boarded the bus. The trip was not as terrifying as I thought it would be and I now ride the bus everyday. So my advice today, do not be afraid to talk to someone new. That someone may turn out to be a great person and a wonderful friend.

School Begins

On the Monday after Christmas break, my parents and I went into the main office of my new school to register me and select my classes. Through out the whole process, I thought that I would have two weeks before I would actually start going to school. That day, however, I met my crazy counselor who asked me if I would like to start school that Monday. So I, being the crazy person I am, said yes and started school right then and there.
My counselor then printed out my new schedule and introduced me to a very patient junior who gave me a tour of the school. He was kind enough to eat  lunch with me and introduce me to some of his friends who I have now become really close friends with. I was also able to go to each of my classes and meet my teachers and classmates. They were all nice and helped me with my many questions.
To wrap it up, my first day was completely terrifying, yet I pretended to be brave and I got through it. I was able to meet people, find my classes, and figure out the layout of the gigantic school. I greatly appreciate my counselor for telling me to start that day. Without his help, I would probably have less friends than I do now and be less brave than I am now. So, my advice to my fellow bloggers is this. No matter how scared you are, try it. In the end, it will most likely be the best decision you have ever made.
